Power Supply
This instrument provides two power supply options for testing: AC220V/DC12V. In environments with strong electromagnetic interference, it is recommended to use DC power supply for testing. Under this condition, the measured values are stable and the ability to resist power frequency interference is strong.
1) DC Power Supply Test:
Close the power switch, the power indicator light will illuminate. Press the "Start/Stop" key to select the corresponding resistance range switch for testing. After the test is completed, press the "Start/Stop" key, the "Discharge" indicator light will illuminate (if the stored charge in the tested object is small, the "Discharge" indicator light may not illuminate). After discharge, the "Discharge" indicator light will turn off. Then switch the test clips for another test.
2) AC Power Supply Test:
Connect the AC220V power supply, the corresponding indicator light ("Charging" or "Fully Charged") will illuminate.
3) Charging:
Connect the AC220V power supply. At this time, the "Charging" indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the rechargeable battery inside the instrument is being charged. If the rechargeable battery has sufficient charge, the "Fully Charged" indicator light will illuminate. The instrument charges the internal battery while using AC power for testing. (The instrument is designed with a charging protection circuit to prevent overcharging.)
Connection Method for Test Leads
Connect the I+, V+, V-, and I- terminals of the instrument to the tested object as shown in Figure 1. This connection method eliminates the influence of contact resistance and lead resistance on the measurement. In use, if the test leads provided with the instrument are not long enough, wires of appropriate diameter can be used to extend them.
Measurement
After connecting the test leads as shown in Figure 2, close the power switch, the power indicator light will illuminate. Press the "Start/Stop" key, the display will show "E0000". Select the resistance range based on the value to be measured, press the corresponding range switch, and the indicator light for that range will illuminate. The stable value displayed on the 4.5-digit LCD is the measured resistance value. When reading the value, pay attention to the unit (mΩ/Ω/kΩ) of the selected range. When measuring large inductive test objects such as power transformers, it is recommended to short-circuit other coils not being measured in the test circuit to avoid electromagnetic interference.
Discharge
After the test is completed, the main power can be turned off directly. If the test object is inductive, do not disconnect the test leads immediately after turning off the power; allow the instrument to have a continuous discharge process. Generally, discharge for at least 20 seconds, otherwise the back electromotive force of the inductor may endanger personal safety.
Features:
1. Uses a high-speed 16-bit A/D converter, providing stable measurement data and good repeatability.
2. Automatic programmable current source technology, with 1000 current levels set by the internal microcontroller based on the resistance being measured, achieving a wide measurement range and optimal measurement state without manual current switching.
3. Highly intelligent design, can automatically detect faults such as loose or broken test leads.
4. Comprehensive protection functions, reliably protecting the instrument from back electromotive force impact, with automatic discharge indication.
5. Displays measurement current and measurement time. Intelligent power management technology effectively reduces internal heat generation.
6. Can store 120 measurement data records, which are not lost when power is off. All Chinese menu and operation prompts are intuitive and convenient.
