Notes and Instructions for Trace Moisture Analyzer

Notes and Instructions for Trace Moisture Analyzer:

1. During normal measurement, each 100 ml of reagent can react with no less than 1.5 g of water. If the measurement time is too long and the reagent sensitivity decreases, the electrolyte should be replaced.

2. If strong bubbles are released or the electrolyte in the cathode chamber is contaminated to a light reddish-brown color during electrolysis, the blank current will increase, the measurement linearity will decrease, and the time to reach the endpoint will be prolonged. In such cases, the electrolyte should be replaced as soon as possible.

3. If the electrolysis time exceeds half an hour and the instrument still cannot stabilize, stop stirring and check whether obvious brown iodine is produced under the platinum mesh below the electrolysis electrode. If there is none or very little iodine produced, the electrolyte should be replaced.

4. To ensure smooth disassembly of all parts on the electrolytic cell bottle, be sure to move the ground-glass joints (including electrodes, drying tubes, injection stopcocks, etc.) at least once a week.

5. The drying tube contains indicating silica gel, which is mainly used to absorb moisture in the air inside the electrolytic cell. When discoloration is observed, it should be replaced promptly to avoid an increase in blank current.

6. When replacing the electrolyte, do it quickly because the special ceramic semipermeable membrane below the electrolysis electrode is prone to moisture absorption, which can prevent the instrument from reaching the endpoint for a long time. Rinse the cathode chamber several times with new electrolyte, then inject new electrolyte and shake a few times until no color change occurs before installing the cell bottle. If the electrolytic cell bottle is heavily contaminated, clean it with acetone, methanol, etc. Especially the inner and outer platinum meshes of the electrolysis electrode and the two platinum claws of the measuring electrode should be cleaned thoroughly. Then dry in a drying oven at 80°C for 1 hour, allow to cool naturally, and then replace with new electrolyte.

7. It is recommended to use the dedicated electrolyte provided by our factory. Using other brands of electrolyte may result in insufficient accuracy, decreased sensitivity, prolonged time to reach endpoint, and instrument abnormalities, for which our factory is not responsible.

8. The working environment of the trace moisture analyzer should be free of corrosive gases, avoid direct sunlight, and the 220V power supply must have a reliable ground wire, preferably connected to an AC voltage stabilizer.

9. The storage temperature of the electrolyte should preferably be below 8°C. In summer, it can be stored in a refrigerator at constant temperature. The shelf life is more than half a year. Use as needed and avoid direct sunlight.
