This instrument uses a 320×240 high-resolution gray backlit LCD display, which can be clearly seen even in strong sunlight. The test process, test environment settings, and test results are all displayed on the LCD screen, with a full Chinese operation interface, clear graphics, beautiful appearance, and easy operation.
The function of the rotary mouse is similar to that of a computer mouse. It has three operations: "rotate left", "rotate right", and "press to select". Through these three operations, functions such as moving the cursor, data input, and operation selection can be achieved.
Move cursor: You can move the cursor by rotating the mouse left or right. Move the cursor to the desired option and "press" the knob to select it.
Data input: When you need to modify or input data, move the cursor to the option that needs modification, press the mouse to enter the hundreds or tens digit modification operation (the cursor shrinks to the digit being modified), and rotate the mouse left or right to increase or decrease that digit.
Press the mouse to confirm the modification of that digit and enter the next digit's modification. Similarly, rotate the mouse left or right to increase or decrease that digit. After modifying all digits one by one, the cursor enlarges to the full cursor, exiting the data modification operation. At this point, you can move the cursor away by rotating the mouse.
First, connect the AC220V or AC380V power supply to the instrument panel, turn on the power switch on the panel, the white backlight of the LCD screen lights up, the device performs self-check, and after self-check, it enters the Chinese main menu of the Volt-Ampere Characteristic Tester (as shown in Figure 2.1).
After entering the Chinese main menu, the current test item indicated by the cursor is "Volt-Ampere Characteristic" measurement, and the background of the currently selected item will be inverted. Press the rotary mouse to enter the Volt-Ampere Characteristic test interface. Rotating the mouse can select "Ratio Polarity", "Polarity Measurement", "Set Time", or "PC Communication".
This instrument uses an RS232 communication port to connect with a PC. Use an RS232 cable or a USB-to-RS232 converter to connect the instrument to the PC, and select the "PC Communication" option. The instrument then enters the PC communication state (as shown in Figure 2.2). For specific operations, please refer to Chapter 5 for application software installation and usage instructions.
After the instrument and computer are successfully connected, the test personnel can view the historical data stored in the instrument's Flash on the computer, or use the computer to control the device for CT polarity test, CT ratio polarity test, CT volt-ampere characteristic test,
and save the test results, print them as A4 documents, and export the data to Excel document format. All real-time data collected by the instrument during the test will be displayed on the software oscilloscope of the application software. The application software can also calculate the CT error curve corresponding to the CT volt-ampere characteristic test based on the test results. After the online connection ends, you can press and hold the reset button to restart the device and exit the online interface.
In the instrument standby screen, select the "Set Time" option, and after confirmation, enter the time setting interface (as shown in Figure 2.3). By rotating the mouse, you can set the year, month, day, hour, and minute parameters of the instrument.[1]
1. Test Parameter Settings
After entering the CT test main interface, rotate the rotary mouse to move the cursor to the "Volt-Ampere Characteristic" option, and press the rotary mouse to enter the volt-ampere characteristic test parameter setting interface (as shown in Figure 3.1). By rotating the mouse, you can change the value of the currently selected option. Move the cursor to "Return",
and press the mouse to return to the CT test main menu interface. The meanings of each parameter in the CT volt-ampere characteristic parameter setting interface are as follows:
1) Measurement Mode Selection: The volt-ampere characteristic test has three test modes: "Standalone", "Voltage Regulator", and "Voltage Booster". Users can choose the test mode according to actual needs.
2) Rated Output Voltage: The rated output voltage refers to the voltage stop condition during the CT volt-ampere characteristic test. If you are not sure, you can set it to 400V for a tentative test. If the CT has not reached saturation at 400V after the test is completed, you can set this voltage value higher.
With AC220V power input, the maximum output voltage is 600V; with AC380V power input, the maximum output voltage can reach 1000V.
3) Rated Output Current: Set the rated output current value during the CT volt-ampere characteristic test. This value is generally set to the CT's rated secondary current. For example: for 600A/5A, the maximum secondary current is generally set to 5A. For 600A/1A, the secondary current is generally set to 1A.
The maximum current range measured on the secondary side of the built-in transformer of the instrument is 1-20A.
