Uses of Variable Frequency Series Resonance

Uses of Variable Frequency Series Resonance

In power systems, variable frequency series resonance, also known as series resonance device, is a large-capacity, high-voltage preventive test equipment for power systems, designed according to the capacity and voltage level of different test objects. It is composed of a variable frequency controller, an excitation transformer, a compensation capacitor, a reactor, and a capacitive voltage divider. It is widely used for insulation performance testing of power transformers, GIS fully enclosed combined electrical appliances, power cables, busbars, switches, and other power equipment.

Measurement Principle of Variable Frequency Series Resonance Test

The design structure of variable frequency series resonance differs from that of power transformers. It adopts a split design, allowing the series resonance device to be configured with different capacities according to different conditions of the test object, greatly improving the portability and flexibility of the resonance device. The measurement principle of the variable frequency series resonance test is to fully utilize the series resonance circuit. By adjusting the relationship among reactance, capacitance, and test frequency, the series resonance device generates resonance conditions in the resonant circuit, meeting the basic requirements and test conditions of the resonance test. Correspondingly, there is also "parallel resonance."
