Identification Methods—General Quality Identification Methods for Electrical Test Equipment
General Quality Identification Methods for Electrical Test Equipment
1. Appearance
a. Chassis material:
Aluminum alloy chassis come in two types: all-aluminum and aluminum-clad. The two look similar, but their durability differs greatly; all-aluminum chassis are more sturdy than aluminum-clad ones. You can distinguish them by looking at the fan holes, ventilation holes, etc.
b. Panel:
The panel should be aesthetically pleasing, with evenly distributed background color, smooth membrane, and good tactile feedback for the keys.
c. Size and weight:
Instruments that are smaller and lighter are more portable; due to higher integration, they are generally more advanced and more reliable.
2. Function
a. Microcomputer interface:
Generally, instruments with a microcomputer interface have a 9-pin socket on the panel, which should be marked with "RS232" or similar. Users may not need it now, but if they want to use a computer to manage data in the future, an RS232 interface is essential.
b. Display method:
Common types include LED (segment light-emitting diode), LCD (segment liquid crystal display), and graphic LCD (can display Chinese characters, graphics), etc. Users can choose according to their needs, but it is worth noting that a larger graphic LCD is not necessarily better; since the LCD is a relatively fragile component, large-screen LCDs have poor vibration resistance and higher failure rates.
c. Printing function:
Instruments with a built-in micro printer can record test data on site, which is convenient to use.
d. Clock function:
It can record and print test time, which is particularly important for projects that require longitudinal comparison of historical data.
e. Data storage:
Users may care about the storage capacity and whether the indexing method is convenient.
f. Upgrade capability:
Instruments with a JTAG in-circuit programming interface can be upgraded online without opening the panel.
g. Human-machine interaction interface:
Is the menu displayed in Chinese? Is the menu design reasonable? Is there a beep when keys are pressed? Does it alarm when errors occur?
h. LCD contrast adjustment:
