The transformer characteristic tester uses power electronics technology internally
The transformer characteristic tester, also often referred to as a transformer comprehensive tester or volt-ampere characteristic tester, is a "versatile doctor" specifically designed to test the performance of current transformers (CT) and voltage transformers (PT).
Transformers are the bridge connecting primary equipment (high voltage) and secondary equipment (protection, metering) in the power system. If the transformer characteristics are inaccurate, it can lead to incorrect energy metering, and relay protection may malfunction or fail to operate. This instrument verifies whether the transformer is qualified by automatically testing parameters such as volt-ampere characteristics, turns ratio, and polarity.
