Operation Steps and Precautions for Insulated Boots and Gloves Withstand Voltage Test Device

The insulated boots and gloves withstand voltage test device is developed and produced based on the test regulations for insulated boots and gloves, and in accordance with the opinions of the majority of users. This product adopts fully automatic voltage increase (decrease), automatically reads the leakage current of each test object, and the entire process is fully automatic. It automatically prints test data, effectively solving the previous irregular testing methods, thereby simplifying testing procedures and improving testing speed.

Operation steps for the insulated boots and gloves withstand voltage test device:

  1. Before use, install the insulating support on the mobile bracket, then insert both ends of the electrode rod support into the insulating support rod, and then install the electrode rods sequentially into the electrode support.

  2. The water inside the insulated boots (gloves) should not be higher than 5CM below the opening of the insulated boots (gloves), and ensure that the part of the insulated boots (gloves) exposed above the water surface is dry and clean. Then place the high-voltage electrode inside the insulated boots (gloves) and clamp the insulated boots (gloves) properly.

  3. Connect one end of the water resistor to the high-voltage input nut on the insulated boots (gloves) test cart, and connect the other end to the high-voltage output terminal of the test transformer inside the insulated boots (gloves) test bench using a 35KV high-voltage cable through the high-voltage outlet of the test bench. Connect the leakage measurement terminals on water tanks 1-6 to the corresponding terminals X1-X6 on the insulated boots (gloves) test bench one by one.

  4. Check whether the main power supply is consistent with the input power supply (220V 50HZ), set the action value of the current relay, and also set the action value of the time relay. Close the air switch, the power indicator light will be on. When the handwheel of the voltage regulator is at zero position, the zero position indicator light will be on, and power can be supplied for operation at this time.

  5. Press the reset button to turn off the fault indicator light. Press the power supply button, the main contactor works, the voltage regulator receives power, the power indicator light goes off, the power supply indicator light comes on, and an audible and visual alarm is activated.

  6. Rotate the handwheel of the voltage regulator clockwise, the audible and visual alarm stops. Watch the indications of the voltmeter and milliammeter, increase the voltage at a rate of less than 3KV per second. When the required voltage value is reached, press the timing button and closely monitor the condition of the test object.

  7. During the test, if the leakage current is greater than the specified value or the test object is broken down, the current relay operates, the voltage regulator automatically cuts off power, and the indicator light corresponding to the insulated boots (gloves) with excessive leakage current or breakdown lights up. Cut off the power, remove the insulated boots (gloves) with excessive leakage current or breakdown, then increase the voltage again. When the specified voltage and withstand time are reached and the leakage current is not greater than the specified value, an audible and visual alarm sounds, indicating that the product is qualified; otherwise, the test object is unqualified.

  8. After the entire test process is completed, cut off the power supply, disassemble the insulated (gloves), replace with the second batch, and repeat the above method for testing.

Precautions for the insulated boots and gloves withstand voltage test device:

  1. During the test of the insulated boots and gloves withstand voltage test device, operators should maintain a safe distance (less than 20KV per meter in air). The power frequency withstand voltage test bench must be reliably grounded, with a grounding resistance less than 0.1Ω.

  2. Before use, test the insulation resistance, which should be greater than 2MΩ.

  3. Before use, check whether the contacts of each electrical component are loose, whether the contact is good, and whether each protection system can work normally.

 4. Before use, wipe the insulating support rod, electrodes, electrode rods, water tanks and other parts with alcohol.

  5. After the test, drain the water and wipe all parts dry with cotton cloth. If not used for a long time, store the water tanks, electrode rods, and insulating support rods in a dry and ventilated place.

  6. The working and storage places should be free of gases, vapors, chemical dust and other explosive and corrosive media that seriously affect insulation.

  7. It must be operated by professional personnel and strictly follow the operating procedures.
